WEST IBIZA — SUNSET MAP

8 best sunset spots
in West Ibiza

From Café del Mar to Cala Comte — an honest local map of where to watch the sun drop, what each place feels like, and how far they are from Sofía Gastrobar (Cala de Bou, Bay of Sant Antoni).

WHY THIS GUIDE

The west coast of Ibiza is one big sunset coast

From Cap Negret in the north down through Sant Antoni's Sunset Strip, around the Bay of Sant Antoni to Cala de Bou, and then south past Cala Comte and Cala Tarida — every cove on this stretch faces directly into the western Mediterranean. Each venue has its own personality. This guide ranks the eight that matter most in 2026, with a note on what each is best for.

🎵
#1

Café del Mar

Sant Antoni — Sunset Strip · Iconic. Crowded. Ambient soundtrack.

The birthplace of the Ibiza sunset session, opened in 1980 on Sant Antoni's Sunset Strip. Chillout records, terrace facing west, packed every clear evening. The reference point against which every other sunset bar in Ibiza is measured.

Best for: First-timers, music history fans, people who want THE Ibiza-Sunset-Strip moment
From Sofía: ~10 min by car across the bay

#2

Café Mambo

Sant Antoni — Sunset Strip · Energetic. Pre-party DJs. Cocktails.

Café del Mar's louder neighbor on the Sunset Strip. World-class DJ residencies, cocktail-driven, busy from sunset until late. The launchpad for many DC-10 / Hï pre-parties.

Best for: Going out afterwards, DJ fans, groups who want energy
From Sofía: ~10 min by car across the bay
🌅
#3

Hostal La Torre

Cap Negret (north of Sant Antoni) · Cliff-top. Bohemian. Romantic.

Cliff-top boutique hostel with an open terrace and one of the most uninterrupted sunset views on the island. No reservation usually needed for sunset drinks — but arrive 90 min early in summer.

Best for: Couples, romantic moments, photographers
From Sofía: ~15 min by car (north)
#4

Sunset Ashram

Cala Comte / Cala Conta · Trendy. Cliff-edge. Beach-club hybrid.

Perched on the rocks of Cala Comte — arguably the prettiest beach in Ibiza. Panoramic, cliff-edge tables, food + cocktails. Reservation essential in peak season. Sunset drops directly in front, between Sofia's view and the horizon.

Best for: Statement dinners, instagram, special occasions
From Sofía: ~12 min by car (south)

#5

Sofía Gastrobar← YOU ARE HERE

Cala de Bou — Carrer des Caló · Waterfront. Calm side of the bay. Brazilian-Mediterranean.

On the SOUTH side of Bay of Sant Antoni — same iconic sea as Café del Mar and Mambo, but on the calm, residential coast. Direct sunset views over the bay and Sa Conillera island from the terrace. Open every day 09:00–01:00 (full kitchen + bar). Family-friendly, dog-friendly, occasionally dolphins. Reservations recommended for prime tables.

Best for: Dinner before the sunset (rather than just a quick drink), families with kids, anyone who wants the same coast without the Sunset-Strip crowd
From Sofía: Right here — 0 km

#6

Kumharas

Cala de Bou (Sofia's literal neighbor) · Bohemian. Live music. Multi-level beach bar.

Walking distance from Sofía. Two beaches side-by-side, view of S'Illa des Bosc (Forest Island) where the sun drops. Live music every night, market stalls, late-bar crowd. Authentic Cala de Bou institution.

Best for: After-dinner drinks once Sofia closes, live-music night, walk-in crowd
From Sofía: ~5 min walk

#7

Cotton Beach Club

Cala Tarida · All-white. Elegant. Pool + beach.

Overlooking Cala Tarida — long white-sand beach, calm bay. Minimalist all-white aesthetic, full restaurant, beach pool, sunset DJ. Pricier than the average sunset bar; the spot for a polished, slow afternoon-into-evening.

Best for: Day-club followed by sunset, premium experience, day-bed bookings
From Sofía: ~10 min by car (south)

#8

S'Illa des Bosc

Cala Codolar (visible from Cala de Bou) · Quiet. Family beach-restaurant.

Beachfront restaurant on Cala Codolar, looking directly at the islet of S'Illa des Bosc — the same islet Sofía's terrace sees on the horizon. Calm, family, traditional Spanish menu. The sun drops over the islet itself.

Best for: Quiet family lunch, watching the sun touch a literal island
From Sofía: ~8 min by car (south-west)

SOFÍA GASTROBAR

The same coast, the calm side

Sofía sits on Carrer des Caló, Cala de Bou — the south rim of Bay of Sant Antoni. Same sea you watch from Café del Mar, just on the other shore. From the terrace, the sun drops directly across the bay toward Sa Conillera island. The kitchen is open every day 09:00–01:00. Brazilian-Mediterranean menu, fresh caipirinhas, kids welcome, dogs welcome, free parking. Sometimes — with luck — dolphins.
